A quota of 1.75 lakh pilgrims from India has been finalised for Haj 2024, with 1.40 lakh seats reserved for pilgrims to proceed through the Haj Committee of India and 35,005 pilgrims will be permitted to proceed through Haj Group Operators. Minister for women and child development and minority affairs Smriti Irani signed the bilateral Haj Agreement 2024 with Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, minister of Hajj and Umrah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, on Sunday at Jeddah. Irani also visited the Haj terminal at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to oversee the arrangements made for pilgrims. Irani said the Saudi delegation expressed appreciation for India’s digital initiatives, particularly in providing essential last-mile information to pilgrims.
