Three Class 12 students of a Kanpur school came wearing a hijab, and refused to take it off despite objections from their teachers for not adhering to the dress code, creating a piquant situation. The incident took place at Bilhaur Inter College on Wednesday. The girls said the school could expel them, but they won’t remove the hijab.
The girls were first stopped at the school gate by some teachers.Principal Sudhir Yadav intervened and tried to convince the girls, but they refused to budge. The principal then summoned their parents, and the two sides finally reached a compromise that the girls could wear the hijab till the school gates but would have to take it off after entering the campus.
