Over 52 kilograms of ganja, estimated to be worth ₹26 lakh, was seized by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) during a surprise inspection at Secunderabad Railway Station on Wednesday afternoon.

The seizure unfolded after the police discovered four suspicious bags abandoned beside a food stall towards the Kazipet-end of the platform 7. Upon securing two independent mediators, the team opened the bags and found 26 neatly packed parcels of dry ganja, each weighing approximately two kilograms. The total quantity came to 52 kilograms.

A case was booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 at the Secunderabad RPS.

No arrests have been made so far, and investigation is underway to determine the source and intended recipients of the contraband.
