The jallikattu held at Kosavapatti village in the district on Friday as part of Uthiriya Madha Church festival saw participation of 670 bulls and 297 bull tamers.
The eight rounds of the event witnessed bulls from Dindigul, Madurai, Theni, and other nearby districts.
The event which started in the morning ended at 4 p.m. More than 58 bull tamers were injured. While 14 injured bull tamers were referred to Dindigul government medical college hospital, one injured bull tamer was sent to Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai for further treatment.
Bulls and bull tamers, who won in the event, were provided with gifts such as refrigerator, fan, silver coin, and bicycle.
