Panaji: The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the name of Goan advocate Ashwin Bhobe, among others, for appointment as judges of the Bombay high court.
According to the collegium, all the consultee-judges unanimously gave a positive opinion on the suitability of Bhobe for appointment as a high court judge. He has been in the legal profession for over 26 years.The names were first recommended by HC chief justice in consultation with his two senior-most colleagues. Supreme Court said that it has perused the views of the chief ministers and the governors of Maharashtra and Goa on this proposal.
The four other names recommended by the SC collegium for appointment as Bombay HC judges are Nivedita Mehta, Prafulla Khubalkar, Rohit Joshi and Advait Sethna.
