MUMBAI: Allowing arrested 74-year-old Jet Airways (India) Ltd founder Naresh Goyal‘s plea to undergo prescribed tests at a private hospital, a special PMLA court on Wednesday said ED should note that the situation in state-run JJ Hospital is such that even if MRI is to be conducted there is a long queue and patients have to wait for two months.
ED had opposed Goyal’s plea and said the tests could be conducted at a state-run hospital. Refuting ED arguments, special judge MG Deshpande said it cannot ignore that parameters related to Goyal’s blood pressure were very high even though he was on medication. The judge said the private specialist who had examined Goyal had expressed apprehension that if proper treatment was not given to him there was likelihood of stroke or paralysis.
