Ambedkar Porata Samiti president Soru Sambayya on Sunday asked the State government to appoint special officers in all districts for the protection of lands belonging to Dalit communities.

Mr. Sambayya said that ‘influential persons’ were either grabbing lands or buying them at throwaway prices from the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and other weaker sections.

Along with the association leaders Enda Gopala Rao and Yerrapu Anandarao, Mr. Sambayya released brochures in Bobbili of Vizianagaram to highlight the issues of Dalit families.

He said that the association leaders would tour all mandals till Republic Day (January 26) to identify the issues faced by the community and submit a detailed report to the government.
