Prior to farmer’s Delhi kooch, police train riot control forces, holds mock drill

KAITHAL: Ahead of farmers’ call for Delhi, the rapid action police force, formed for riot control, are being trained at the police line in Kaithal district.
According to a police spokesperson, following the orders of Haryana’s director general of police, Shatrujeet Kapoor, SP Rajesh Kalia, three companies have been formed by the district police to maintain law and order in the area. These include 2 male companies, 1 female company, and a shooter team as well. The personnel of these companies will be equipped with batons, tear gas, and modern weapons and will remain in a ready position to respond to any call.
The companies are being trained at the Police Line in Kaithal, where they are being taught how to form various formations, control crowds, deploy tear gas, and handle weapons, among other skills. This training is being conducted under the supervision of DSP Sushil Prakash, with assistance from ASI Ajay, SI Rohitash, and ASI Surender from the Haryana Police Academy (HPA), said police spokesman.
DSP Sushil Prakash stated that if any law and order issue arises in the district, this police force will be ready to handle any situation. If any antisocial elements attempt to disturb the environment, strict legal action will be taken against them. In the future, these companies will continue to undergo regular drills and training.
The source said that similar preparations are being done in Jind district as well.
Farmers said that they will start paidal march in groups from the Shambhu border whereas “aamran anshan” will continue at the Khanauri border.
