Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan and other Ministers participating in the second and final day of the Collectors’ Conference, at the Secretariat on Thursday.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asserted that Amaravati is a people’s capital, and will also provide employment opportunities for the youth.
On the second day of the Collectors’ conference on December 12, 2024 (Thursday), Mr. Naidu reviewed the construction of the capital city Amaravati.
He said special focus would be laid on Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Amaravati cities. Special attention would also be paid to skill training. The goal was to create two million jobs in the next five years. Every family should have at least one entrepreneur, he said.
Mr. Naidu said several knowledge economy universities were coming to the region. The top 10 universities and top 10 hospitals from around the world were set to establish their campuses here, Mr. Naidu said.
He further emphasised that Amaravati should not only be a capital for governance but also a hub for employment, education, and healthcare. The goal was to ensure the city drives economic growth while maintaining a focus on the development of regions such as Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.
Earlier, CRDA Commissioner K. Bhaskar said administrative approval was obtained for restarting capital construction works with ₹20,500 crore. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved a loan of ₹15,000 crore for Amaravati, he said.
Mr. Bhaskar said in the R-5 zone, the previous government had taken steps to provide housing plots to 50,793 beneficiaries. The Collectors were asked to identify suitable land in their respective districts to give houses to them.
