NEW DELHI: Lok Sabha elections in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh could potentially be held in the first week of April this year, Union minister G Kishan Reddy said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is preparing for the polls, with Narendra Modi expected to become Prime Minister for the third time.
Reddy, who is also the Telangana BJP president, referred to the previous election schedule in 2019 as a basis for this estimation.
“We are getting ready for Parliament elections under the leadership of Narendra Modi ji. The notification is expected to come next month,” Reddy said.
He further mentioned that based on the Election Commission’s previous schedule, the elections in the Telugu states would likely take place in the first week of April.
Reddy highlighted the stability, honesty, and efficiency of the current government led by PM Modi.
He said that in the past nine and a half years, India has become the fifth-largest economy and has experienced a period of peace without incidents such as bomb blasts, communal clashes, or interference from external agencies like Pakistan’s ISI.
Reddy also highlighted the significance of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, saying that it symbolizes the self-respect of every Hindu worldwide.
