Hollywood actor Jamie Foxx‘s 57th birthday dinner took an unexpected turn when an altercation at a Beverly Hills restaurant left him injured and in need of stitches.
The ‘Django Unchained’ star was celebrating his birthday on Friday (13 December) at a luxury Chinese restaurant. During the evening, a guest at another table reportedly “threw a glass that hit him in the mouth,” the actor’s representative told BBC. The incident is now being investigated by law enforcement.

Officials from the Beverly Hills Police Department responded to the restaurant following reports of an assault involving a deadly weapon. However, upon arrival, officers determined that the fight did not meet those criteria. Authorities confirmed there had been a physical altercation between two groups but did not provide details about what caused the clash.
The incident occurred around 10:10 pm, but the police did not confirm whether any arrests had been made. No further updates were given regarding the investigation.
Foxx’s representative stated that the actor received stitches for his injuries and is currently recovering. Although the police did not name Foxx in their official report, his representative clarified that he was present for the celebratory dinner.
This incident comes months after Foxx revealed details about a serious health scare he suffered last year. During a recent Netflix special, he shared that he experienced a “brain bleed that led to a stroke” in April 2023. The actor recalled having a severe headache before blacking out, adding that he does not remember 20 days following the episode. At the time, his daughter Corinne Foxx described it as a “medical complication” but provided no further details.
Foxx, an Oscar winner for his portrayal of musician Ray Charles in ‘Ray’ (2005), has had an illustrious career. His other notable films include ‘Baby Driver’, ‘Annie’ and ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2’. He was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor the same year he won Best Actor.
