NEW DELHI: Authorities discovered five IEDs weighing 21.5 kg in Manipur’s Imphal East district, on Wednesday.
The discovery occurred during a collaborative effort between the Spear Corps and local police at Maphitel Ridge near Monglham on Tuesday.
A detection dog was instrumental in locating the explosive devices.
The recovered items included two IEDs weighing 5.5 kg each, one 4 kg IED, two 3.5 kg IEDs, and a 25 m Cordtex wire, according to police officials.
In a separate incident in Kangpokpi district, security personnel confiscated a submachine gun (SMG) with a magazine and an improvised mortar, known locally as ‘pumpi’, from Phaileng.
