Varun Dhawan is known for his infectious humor and openness, as he recently displayed during a chat…
While talking to Ranveer Allahbadia., Varun shared a hilarious and relatable story of how his elder brother, Rohit Dhawan, and Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor gang up on him to tease and bully him, especially when they are together. Varun humorously recalled how things change when the three of them are playing a game of padel. While Ranbir is usually friendly and kind when it’s just the two of them, his behavior changes when he’s with Rohit. As Varun says, “Unka yeh bada hai ki mujhe bully karte hai jab saath mein hote hai. Ranbir jab akela hota hai tab bahut ache hai mere saath par jab mere bhai ke saath hai tab he is also in that elder brother zone.” (They have this habit of bullying me when they’re together. Ranbir is nice when he’s alone, but when he’s with my brother, he too adopts the elder brother vibe.)
Despite being the victim of some sort of teasing by his brother Rohit and close friend Ranbir, Varun did not get caught up in it. Instead, he turned the tables around with both Rohit and Ranbir by winning two games of padel tennis. Of course, he could not resist sharing his win in the podcast, but somehow managed to add a comic relief in the talk as he discusses his sibling rivalry but still knows how to take his share when teased.
Earlier, Varun did not miss the chance to share his special bond with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. In a Pinkvilla Masterclass, he spoke about how close their families are. Varun shared that even today, he feels like a child around Salman, always cherishing their playful dynamic. He revealed that Salman treats every child with the same warmth, not just him, which made him feel extra special growing up.
Varun fondly recollected the times Salman would come to their place and sneak into his room with his roti to finish it off with his mom’s famous paneer. In those days, the young Varun was not habituated to an older person being so mischievous and fricky with him, but he cherished such memories, and they have passed through the ages. Years of shared moments and a very playful, even sibling-like, relationship keeps the Varun-Salman equation going.
Through these stories, Varun Dhawan not only shows his ability to laugh at himself but also highlights the warmth and love shared between him, his family, and his Bollywood peers.
