Boney Kapoor was in his element as he attended an event on December 19 held to promote Eugenix Hair Sciences, a popular hair transplant clinic. Boney got his hair transplant done and he wanted to share with the media about his pleasurable experience and how his life changed after the procedure. The surprise guest at the event was Anees Bazmee of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (2024), Welcome (2007) and No Entry (2005) fame. He was so motivated by Boney’s transformation that he also got a hair transplant done just three days before this event. As a result, his head was covered with a bandana.
Boney Kapoor says that he asked Akshaye Khanna to go for hair transplant; reveals, “My daughter told me, “Mom (Sridevi) felt that if you got your hair back, you’d look better than her’”
Boney Kapoor revealed, “I even told Akshaye Khanna, ‘Aake mujhe milo’. I encouraged Anees Bazmee. People fear that when you undergo a hair transplant, you’ll have to bear a lot of pain. Aisa kuch nahin hota.”
Boney raised laughs as he remarked, “No Entry 2’s shoot is about to go on floors. I told the doctor, ‘Anees khoobsurat rahega toh aur zyada khoobsurat picture banegi’!”
He further said, “Sridevi used to tell me, ‘First lose weight and then attempt any such thing’. But she was against the idea. Just today, I asked my daughter, ‘Meri wife mujhe kyun mana kar rahi thi?’. This is when my daughter shared the secret with me. She said, ‘Mother was insecure. She felt that if you got your hair back, you’d become better looking than her’! Yeh raaz ab tak dabaye rakha tha. Aaj meri beti ne mujhe bataya!”
He continued, “Sridevi had seen me right from the 80s when I started Mr India (1987). She had seen me with my full hair and also my journey of losing hair. She had accepted me and wanted me to be exclusively for her. She said, ‘I am happy with the hair you have’. She only wanted me to lose weight.”
When asked how his daughters – Janhvi Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Anshula Kapoor – react to his transformation, he replied, “You should ask them. I am sure you’ll get a chance to talk to them. They are all very happy. When I upload a picture on Instagram, they comment ‘Wow, dad’, ‘looking sharp’, ‘looking good’ etc. I am sure you must have seen their reactions on Instagram.”
And what about son Arjun Kapoor? Boney Kapoor said, “Arjun is also very glad with my transformation. He’s not as demonstrative as my daughters are. Everyone has their own way of (communicating).” On a lighter note, he quipped, “Usko lagta hai ki agar woh meri zyada taareef karega, toh kahin main uska role na le lu.”
