NEW DELHI: In a fresh political attack ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP leader RP Singh on Tuesday slammed AAP convenor and former CM Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly installing gold-plated toilets at his official residence, while the city’s infrastructure remains inadequate.
Singh claimed that the former CM had installed 12 such luxury toilets worth Rs 1.44 crore at his official residence ‘Sheeshmahal’ which is reportedly valued at Rs 56 crore.
Addressing a press conference, Singh accused the AAP government of misleading the people of Delhi with promises of free benefits or “revdis,” while indulging in lavish spending for themselves.
“This is a gold-plated toilet. The chief minister had installed 12 such toilets in his house. These toilets, worth Rs 1.44 crore, were installed in the ‘Sheeshmahal.’ This is the state of affairs in Delhi, where those in power are wasting public funds on luxury while the people suffer,” Singh said.
“When our government comes to power, we will build good-quality toilets and bathrooms for the people of Delhi,” Singh vowed.
