But well, if we are to get into the logic of it, one point that sticks out for me is that by the time the pitch is ready for play, conditions may change to impact a team’s decision at the toss. Maybe not the case here, but consider a game where the entire first day is washed out, and because of the rain and conditions, a team who would have wanted to bat first had the toss happened on time, may now want to bowl first to make the most of the weather and pitch.
