PHILADELPHIA – The moment Philadelphia Eagles fans knew was coming has finally arrived—Brandon Graham is hanging up his cleats. The defensive end, who authored the most iconic play in franchise history, announced his retirement Tuesday after 15 seasons with the team. A first-round pick in 2010 out of Michigan, Graham overcame early career struggles to become one of the most beloved Eagles of all time. With two Lombardi Trophies sitting beside him, he delivered an emotional farewell speech inside the team’s auditorium, surrounded by family, friends, teammates, and coaches.
“You all know I gave everything I had in this,” Graham said, his voice breaking. “I don’t have no regrets.”

Brandon Graham’s career arc is one of perseverance. He was once labeled a bust after injuries slowed his early years, but he ultimately became a cornerstone of the Eagles’ defense. His most famous moment came in Super Bowl LII when he strip-sacked Tom Brady late in the fourth quarter, helping secure the franchise’s first championship.
“That’s always going to be a good one. A Michigan guy against another Michigan guy,” Graham said with a smile. “It was a big moment in my career, and that’s where I felt like things started to get even better from that point on.”
He leaves the game with 206 regular-season appearances, the most in franchise history, and ranks third in sacks (76.5). Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie praised Graham’s impact both on and off the field.

“Brandon Graham is the embodiment of everything you want in a Philadelphia Eagle,” Lurie said. “…It was the way he played the game and the way he carried himself that earned him the love and respect of his coaches, teammates and fans.”
Though he considered retiring after the 2022 season, Graham returned for one final year. He played a key role early in 2024 before a triceps injury in November appeared to end his career. But in a storybook twist, he rehabbed behind the scenes and returned for Super Bowl LIX, helping the Eagles claim their second title.

“If I didn’t make it back to the Super Bowl, I probably wouldn’t be up here right now,” he admitted. “I promise you, I’d be begging to come back for one more.”
Graham got the perfect ending—one last game, one last ring, and a legacy that will never fade in Philadelphia.
