Police to get drone cameras, fingerprint equipment for faster investigate of cases: A.P Home Minister

To improve the efficiency and effectiveness of police investigations and to ensure quick resolution of cases, police personnel across all districts in Andhra Pradesh will soon be equipped with drone cameras, fingerprint equipment and other advanced technologies, said Minister for Home Vangalapudi Anitha on Wednesday.

During the law and order review meeting with senior police officials of North Andhra region in Srikakulam, she informed that the government was committed to the quick redressal of cases, particularly those related to ganja smuggling, the protection of children from sexual offences and other cases.

She highlighted the impressive recovery rate in theft cases in all districts including Srikakulam and Vizianagaram and noted that those accused in theft cases are being arrested within 48 hours due to the effective functioning of the police department. She said: “With the addition of new and latest technologies the police will be able to investigate cases quickly.”

Visakhapatnam Range DIG Gopinath Jatti, Srikakulam SP Maheswara Reddy, Vizianagaram SP Vakul Jindal, Parvatipuram Additional SP Anikta Surana and others briefed the home minister on the pending cases and efforts involved to resolve them at the earliest.

Ms. Anitha fulfilled the long-standing wish of Lathasri, a cancer patient, to meet with her. The home minister visted her home and enquired about her health.
