Sunny Deol‘s ‘Jaat’ also starring Randeep Hooda, Vineet Kumar Singh is doing very well at the box office. It obviously cannot be expected to do a business like Sunny’s previous big film ‘Gadar 2‘, however, the numbers and the growth which the film has seen is quite good.

‘Jaat’ makes Rs 5.15 crore on second Sunday

The film which opened at around Rs 9.5 crore, made around Rs 61.75 crore within 1 week, which was till Thursday. Now on day 9, which was Good Friday, the movie made around Rs 4 crore. This happened despite the fact that on the same day, it was surrounded amidst controversies where it faced backlash for hurting religious sentiments. The makers removed the church scene from the film which hurt the religious sentiments of the Christian community. On Friday, Askshay Kumar’s ‘Kesari 2‘ also released which gave a tough competition to ‘Jaat’ as it opened at Rs 7.5 crore and it saw a good growth through word of mouth.
Thus, over the weekend, ‘Jaat’ did not make more than ‘Kesari 2’. However, it made a decent number with some growth over the weekend. According to Sacnilk, the movie made around Rs 3.75 crore on Saturday and Rs 5.15 crore on Sunday. The total collection of the film now stands at 74.55 crore.

Will it cross Rs 100 crore?

The upcoming weekend and the trend seen for ‘Kesari 2’ will also be a deciding factor if ‘Jaat’ will cross Rs 100 crore eventually. But going by the current trend, it may cross that number by the end of its third weekend.
