Dakshina Kannada top officials told to maintain peace

After the murder of Suhas Shetty, a Hindutva activist and a rowdy sheeter, at Bajpe in Mangaluru a few days ago, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao, who is also district in-charge Minister of Dakshina Kannada, and Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader held a virtual meeting with top officials of the district on Thursday and instructed them to take stern action to maintain law and order in the region.

Mr. Rao and Mr. Khader told the Deputy Commissioner, the Superintendent of Police, and the Mangaluru city Police Commissioner not to succumb to any pressure and take action without any leniency against anti-social elements who attempt to disturb the law and order.

Both leaders held a videoconference with top administration officials of Dakshina Kannada and told them that the government would be ready to provide all support to ensure peace in the region.
