Prateek Joshi, one of the victims of the Ahmedabad Air India flight crash, had studied medicine in Belagavi in Karnataka.

He hails from Banawal in Rajasthan. He was shifting to London with his wife, who was a doctor. The couple and their three children perished in the crash.

Dr. Joshi was in the 2000-05 batch of KLE Society’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. He had promised his classmates to visit Belagavi in September this year for the silver jubilee celebrations of his batch.

KLE JNMC Principal Niranjana Mahanta Shetty expressed grief overe Dr. Joshi’s death. “He was a good student. He was very jovial and social. He had many friends. He had achieved great success at a young age. He was planning to shift to London. We pray to God to help his family get through through these tough times,” she said.

Dr. Joshi’s friends Jyoti Benni and Mansi Gosavi recalled their time with him. “He sat in the bench next to ours. When we told him about celebrating the silver jubilee of our batch, he enthusiastically promised to attend. We were in regular contact through social media. It will be very sad to celebrate the silver jubilee without him,” they said.
