NEW DELHI: A wanted criminal, Romil Vohra, was shot dead in an encounter with the Delhi Police Special Cell at the Delhi-Haryana border, police said on Tuesday. Two police personnel sustained injuries during the exchange of fire.According to the Delhi Police, Vohra was a active shooter affiliated with the Kala Rana-Noni Rana gang. He was wanted in connection with multiple criminal cases, including the recent murder of liquor businessman Shantanu in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district.The police had been tracking Vohra’s movements since the Yamunanagar killing. Acting on a tip-off about his location, a team from the Special Cell confronted him near the border, where the encounter unfolded.Police officials confirmed that Vohra had several criminal cases registered against him, including charges of murder, extortion, and gang-related activities.The injured officers are currently undergoing treatment.
