Actress Asha Negi, who plays a key role in the latest season of ‘Criminal Justice’, recently opened up about her decision to join the project and how the experience challenged her as an actor. Speaking to IANS, Negi admitted that she was initially hesitant to take on the part due to its limited screen time.“Yes, I was a bit skeptical at first because of the limited screen time,” she revealed. “I wondered if the character would fade away—what then? But once I read the screenplay and received the character briefing, I realized that although the screen time was less, the role itself had a lot to offer. It was a performance-oriented character.”For Negi, the strength of the role outweighed its brevity. “It’s not always about screen time. If the character is strong, that’s enough for me. So, I went ahead with it,” she said. When asked whether the emotionally intense narrative took a toll, the actress acknowledged the challenge but said the overall experience was deeply satisfying. “It was definitely emotionally and physically draining, but I had a lot of fun. Even today, when I think about the process and the entire journey, my eyes light up because I truly enjoyed it. Working with such talented directors and actors now gives me a lot of creative satisfaction,” she added. As the series is getting praise, amid all this love, Negi also shared behind-the-scenes moments from the shoot on Instagram, along with a heartfelt note: “The last few days have been overwhelming in the best way… It was truly a joy and an incredible journey bringing this character to life (and death). I’m so happy!”As viewers continue to speculate about the central mystery — “Roshni ko kisne maara?” — Negi’s impactful performance remains one of the season’s biggest talking points.Directed by Rohan Sippy, ‘Criminal Justice 4’ features an ensemble cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Purab Kohli, Shweta Basu Prasad, and Dugad.
