Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated multiple development projects worth Rs 7,200 crore in poll-bound Bihar on Friday, targeting opposition parties, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress for looting the people and halting the state’s development.

While speaking in Bihar’s Motihari, PM Modi said, “During the UPA and RJD government in Bihar, grants of only Rs 2 lakh crores were sanctioned in 10 years. They were taking revenge on (CM) Nitish Kumar. In 2014, you gave me the opportunity to serve at the Centre. After coming to power at the Centre, I also put an end to the old politics of revenge against Bihar.”

The Prime Minister highlighted that over four crore houses had been built for the poor under PM Awas Yojana across the country, along with sufficient funds in Bihar for public welfare and development projects. He said tghe work in Bihar has progressed rapidly because both the Centre and the state are committed towards Bihar’s development.

PM Modi Lashes Out At Opposition

Speaking further, Modi said, “It’s important for today’s generation to understand how deeply Bihar was engulfed in despair two decades ago. During the regime of the RJD and Congress, development had come to a halt, and it was nearly impossible for the poor to receive the money meant for them.”

“Those in power were only focused on how to loot the funds meant for the poor,” he added. “It was impossible for the poor to get proper concrete houses during their rule. People didn’t even dare to get their homes painted.”

The Prime Minister also lauded the role of women in Bihar, pointing to the increasing number of Lakhpati Didis in the state. “The ‘Jeevika Didi Yojana’ initiated by Nitish Kumar has paved the way for making lakhs of women in Bihar self-reliant,” he added.

“You freed this land from the shackles of RJD and Congress – you made the impossible possible. As a result, today’s welfare schemes in Bihar are reaching the poor directly.”

PM Modi also mentioned that the world is progressing rapidly in the 21st century and the influence of Eastern nations is rising globally, in a shift from Western hegemony of power. He pledged to make efforts to make the Bihar city of Motihari like Mumbai, and Gaya like Gurugram.

PM Modi On Viksit Bihar

PM Modi also underscored that the country will only progress with the development of Bihar, and that will only happen when the youth progresses. “Our resolve is – a prosperous Bihar, employment for every youth!” he announced.

“Nitish Ji’s government has provided appointments to lakhs of youth in the government with complete transparency, and Nitish Ji has recently made new resolutions for the employment of Bihar’s youth. The central government is standing shoulder to shoulder, supporting them.”

He also promised to increase the production and income of Bihar’s farmers and establish a Makhana board to increase its production. He also hailed the success in eliminating Naxalism that affected the areas of Champaran, Aurangabad, Gaya and Jamui.

PM Modi handed over the keys of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin as a part of Griha Pravesh of 12,000 beneficiaries and flagged off four new Amrit Bharat trains in Bihar ahead of the upcoming elections.
