Actress Mona Singh, who recently featured in the web series The Ba***ds of Bollywood directed by debutant Aryan Khan, opened up about the unique challenges of recreating the iconic song ‘Duniya Haseeno Ka Mela’. In an exclusive interview with Filmfare, she described the filming process as “pretty tricky”.

While discussing the shoot, Singh explained, “I did not shoot with Bobby because his original version was already there. I had to shoot my bit. It was pretty tricky because we had to match all the steps right, to the T. Interestingly, there was this proper frame given to me – this is the only space I have to move in and out. I followed that.”
The actress further detailed how the production aimed to evoke the late ’90s aesthetic, right down to the costume, makeup and hairstyle. “Right from the outfit to the makeup to the hairstyle – everything was taken care of. We did not want to lag in anything. But I was having fun. I was really having a lot of fun while making it look absolutely real.”
According to the article, Singh is “on cloud nine” following the success of The Ba***ds of Bollywood, where she plays Neeta Singh. She is now preparing for her next project, the slice-of-life family series Thode Door Thode Paas on the OTT platform Zee 5, which also stars Pankaj Kapur and Kunaal Roy Kapur, and is set to premiere from November 7 2025.
The conversation offers an interesting glimpse into the intricacies of reviving a well-known track: from matching dance steps, to conforming to spatial constraints on set, to mirroring the original era’s styling with authenticity.
