NEW DELHI: Former RCB captain Virat Kohli shared insights into his fitness regimen ahead of the upcoming clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League 2024 season.
Speaking to Star Sports, Kohli highlighted the unique challenges of maintaining fitness, particularly in terms of dietary discipline.

“The basic challenge that I felt in terms of fitness is food,” Kohli expressed.

“You can go to the gym and work hard… But with food, it is very different. You have taste buds, and it’s linked to your own mind wanting something and not wanting something.”

Kohli disclosed his remarkable ability to adhere to a strict diet, stating, “I can eat the same thing for the next six months, three times a day. I have no issues.”

This unwavering commitment to his diet underscores Kohli’s dedication to maintaining peak physical condition, a crucial aspect of his exceptional performance on the cricket field.

Despite Kohli’s individual success in the tournament, with 316 runs, including a century and two half-centuries, RCB have found it hard to muster positive results. Currently placed at ninth on the points table with only one win from five matches, RCB face an uphill battle to secure victories and climb the rankings.
As RCB prepare to face off against MI at the Wankhede Stadium, Kohli, currently at the top of the Orange Cap list, would like to continue his dominance with the bat.
