KURUKSHETRA: Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) secretary general Abhay Singh Chautala, inaugurated his party’s Lok Sabha election office in Kurukshetra on Sunday.
Abhay is also INLD candidate for Kurukshetra Lok Sabha constituency and he held several public gatherings in the district to seek votes for himself. He appealed to the people to elect INLD candidates in Lok Sabha and work to form government in upcoming state elections.
Addressing the gathering at the office inauguration event, Abhay hit out at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for claiming to be pro-farmers and pro-youths. Abhay also told his party workers that the election on May 25 is not far and they should intensify the campaign.
“If we delay the campaign, we may lose the trust of the people that you won and the hard work that you did in the last five days. BJP weakened our party (INLD) under a conspiracy. It was their effort to somehow finish INLD. But I congratulate all the party workers, who stood firm and did not lose courage”, said Abhay.
“The situation of BJP is so that they talk about winning 400 plus seats, but among the candidates that they fielded, six are caught from Congress and other parties. BJP does not have candidates of their own. BJP does not have confidence in their party workers, to field them in public as candidates”, said Abhay, adding that the situation of Congress is also the same.
“Congress people are regularly busy in infighting”, he said.
“Congress claimed about winning all 10 seats in Haryana, but left the ground of Kurukshetra. Congress gave Kurukshetra seat to a candidate of that party (Aam Aadmi Party), which has stopped your SYL (Satluj Yamuna Link canal) water in Punjab. If AAP party candidate comes to seek votes, ask him about how they will bring SYL water in Haryana when their government in Punjab is stopping that water by passing resolution”, said Abhay.
Abhay said BJP should be questioned on works that they did in the last 10 years and about their plan for the coming 5 years.
“BJP has released a manifesto on the birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar but actually it is working to finish the Constitution written by him. Their manifesto has nothing about women or dalits. They talked of guaranteeing a law on MSP (minimum support price), but what will they give to farmers, nothing is written in the manifesto of BJP”, said Abhay.
“There is nothing about taking forward educated youth in the BJP manifesto. This shows that they only want to promote industrialism and suppress all rest. BJP has no vision for the people”, said Abhay.
