J&K govt effects major admin reshuffle, 56 top officers transferred | India News

SRINAGAR: The J&K government on Thursday effected a major administrative reshuffle by transferring 56 IAS and JKAS officers. Among those transferred are at least five Deputy Commissioners (DCs), including Srinagar DC Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat.
Some of the prominent officers who have been shifted are Alok Kumar (IRS), Suresh Kumar Gupta (IFS), Shailendra Kumar (IAS) and Mandeep Kaur (IAS).
Alok Kumar, principal secretary, school education department, has been transferred and posted as principal secretary, higher education department. “He shall also hold the additional charge of administrative secretary, estates department, till further orders,” reads the government order.
Suresh Kumar Gupta, director, social forestry, has been shifted and posted as principal secretary, culture department.
Shailendra Kumar, principal secretary, public works (R&B) department, has been transferred and posted as principal secretary, agriculture production department.
Mandeep Kaur, commissioner/secretary, department of rural development & panchayati raj, has been made commissioner/secretary, housing & urban development department.
