Arvind Kejriwal News LIVE: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday stayed trial court’s order granting bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the money laundering case about the alleged excise policy scam.

Last week, the High Court put on hold the trial court’s bail order to the Delhi CM, while reserving its verdict on the plea following which the AAP supremo’s legal team approached the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court fixed June 26 for hearing Kejriwal’s plea against the High Court order putting an interim stay on his bail in the money laundering case linked to the alleged excise scam.

The AAP convener could have walked out of Tihar jail on Friday had the high court not granted the interim stay relief to the Enforcement Directorate.

Delhi Liquor Policy Scam Case

The Enforcement Directorate arrested Kejriwal on March 21, after the Delhi High Court refused to grant him protection from coercive action by the federal anti-money laundering agency pertaining to the Liquor scam case.

The chief minister is currently lodged in the Tihar jail here under judicial custody.

The matter pertains to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government’s now-scrapped excise policy for 2021-22.
