Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire’ was released in theaters on December 22, and the movie is now very close to crossing the Rs 700 crore mark. The film, on day 1 of its release, grossed Rs 91 crore at the box office, becoming the highest-ever grossing Indian film worldwide and breaking milestone records.
Directed by Prashanth Neel, the movie stars Prabhas, Shruti Haasan, and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles, and the film’s music is composed by Ravi Basrur.Though ‘Salaar’ clashed with Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Dunki‘ in theaters, it emerged as a winner even in the Hindi box office.
The film last week saw a major dip in its collection, and while it looked like the theater run was nearing completion, the film on January 6, day 16 of its release, once again picked up its pace and made Rs 5.25 crore at the box office, according to Sacnilk, the box office tracking site.
The movie is expected to run decently with a steady pace of making a single-digit crore until January 12, before Sankranti. It might be tough for the movie to stand still with four big Telugu movies releasing for Pongal.
The script for ‘Salaar Part 2: Shouryanga Parvam’ has been finalized, and the movie is said to go on floors by the end of 2024, as it is scheduled for a release in 2025.
