JAIPUR: Jat bodies from Bharatpur-Dholpur districts of Rajasthan have given a call on Sunday for an indefinite “mahapadav” (sit-in) near Delhi-Mumbai rail route at Bharatpur from January 17.
They are demanding that the state government forcefully recommend their inclusion in the OBC quota. The Jat bodies chose Bharatpur as it is the home district of Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Under the banner of Bharatpur Dholpur Reservation Sangharsh Committee (BDRSC), the community leaders announced that they will not hesitate to block railway tracks and national highways if their demand is not met in the next 10 days. If the protest continues, it will affect the Delhi-Mumbai via Alwar and Jaipur-Agra via Bharatpur road and rail routes.
