While many versions of Mahabharat has already been released including a cult television classic of the mythological saga which wooed the audiences in the 90s, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan too had expressed his keen desire to bring it to life on the silver screen. However, now years later, as the actor is planning to mark his comeback to the big screen after the Laal Singh Chaddha debacle, he was seen confessing about wanting to revisit the dream of making the film.
Aamir Khan drops major update on Mahabharat; reveals he is ‘excited’ about taking it forward
Although he did not reveal any details or provide any confirmation or hint about the cast, Aamir Khan insisted that he would like think about doing a film on the epic tale of Mahabharat. It is a known fact that Khan has been on a sabbatical of sorts for the past three years and was maintaining a distance from the limelight. But with his son Junaid Khan making his theatrical debut, followed by the superstar marking his return to the big screen with his next venture already in the pipeline, Khan has dropped a major hint about Mahabharat too. At an event with ABP News, Aamir said, “Ek mera dream hai ki main Mahabharat banau, toh woh dream ke baare mein ab main shayad soch paun (I had this dream of making Mahabharat. I can think about that dream now). Ek excitement hai”.
When the host decided to prod further information and asked if the actor would be a part of it too, Aamir initially hesitated with a pause and after thinking for a bit, he answered, “Dekhte hain (Let’s see)” . Readers would be aware that the excitement for this project has always remained high. Furthermore, fans of Khan are excited to see him venture into this mythological saga too.
As for Aamir Khan’s current projects, the actor has dedicated his time to the film Sitaare Zameen Par – which is a spiritual sequel to the 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. This drama is expected to star Genelia D’Souza and is slated to hit screens on December 25, this year.
