Aamir Khan attended the Macau Comedy Festival alongside several well-known names such as He Wenjun, Xu Zheng, Na Na, Tian Wa, Wen Song, Song Xiaobao, Zhang Chiyu, Joshua Yi, Wang Yingwei, Li Fei, Song Yang, Wang Jianhua, Stanley Tang, Song Muzi, Xu Wubin, Chang Yuan, Shen Teng, Zhang Chen, Zhao Benshan, Zhou Dayong, Li Zhiliang, Liu Siwei, and Ai Lun. His appearance drew attention, reflecting his popularity in China. Aamir is also set to join Shen Teng and Ma Li in a closing session titled “Laughter is the Best Medicine,” where they’ll discuss comedy’s social role and its potential across cultures.
Aamir Khan’s films have performed notably well in China, often exceeding their box office collections in India. His 2009 film 3 Idiots was a major success, followed by PK in 2014. Among his top-grossing films in China are Dangal (2016), which earned around $193 million, and Secret Superstar (2017), which collected approximately $109 million.
