The trailer of Aamir Khan and Genelia D souza starrer, much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par, which was scheduled to release this week, has been postponed due to the recent Pahalgam tragedy. The decision was made as a gesture of respect for the lives lost and the somber national mood that has followed.

‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is widely regarded as the spiritual sequel to the 2007 cult classic Taare Zameen Par, a film that left an indelible mark on Indian cinema with its heartfelt portrayal of childhood struggles and the transformative power of empathy. The new film, while thematically distinct, promises to continue the emotional richness and social sensitivity that defined the earlier film. This film explores the transformative journey of a man forced to confront his own flaws through his interactions with children who see the world differently. The emotional arc, as described by Aamir, promises to resonate with audiences much like its predecessor did.

The trailer was set for a high-profile launch this week, with significant promotional efforts already in place. However, sources close to the industry exclusively informed that Aamir Khan and his team felt it would be inappropriate to proceed with the launch at this time. A new release date for the trailer will be announced once the situation stabilizes.
Interestingly, even as the team holds back ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’’s trailer out of sensitivity, Aamir Khan is simultaneously seeing box office success with the re-release of one of his most beloved cult comedies. ‘Andaz Apna Apna’, which returned to theatres recently to mark its 30th anniversary, has taken the box office by storm. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the 1994 film has collected ₹25 lakh on its opening day. Following this, the film’s profits rose on the second day, reaching ₹30 lakh. After earning ₹50 lakh on Sunday, the movie has also given the new releases fierce competition. The movie made a total of ₹1.15 crore in 3 days.
