Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday took a jibe at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, calling it AAPda, which translates to disaster, sounding Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) poll bugle ahead of Assembly Elections. While laying the foundation stone of and inaugurating various development works in Delhi, PM Modi addressed the people of the national capital, saying the AAP has descended upon Delhi like an “Aapda” (disaster).

“For the past 10 years, Delhi has been surrounded by a big aapda (disaster). By putting Anna Hazare in the forefront, some bigoted and dishonest people pushed Delhi into a disaster. Scam in liquor shops, scam in children’s schools, scam in treatment of poor people, scam in the name of recruitments, these people used to talk about development of Delhi, but these people have attacked Delhi by becoming a disaster,” PM Modi said.

“I want to give the benefit of ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme which provides free medical treatment facility to the people of Delhi. The AAP-da government has a big enmity towards the people of Delhi. Ayushman Yojana is implemented in the whole country, but the AAP-da is not allowing this scheme to be implemented here (Delhi). The people of Delhi are suffering due to this,” PM Modi added.

Reiterating the BJP’s slogan for Delhi polls, ‘Ab nahi sahenge, badal ke rahenge‘ (we won’t tolerate now, we will change it), the Prime Minister said, “The people of Delhi have started a war against the AAPda. The voters of Delhi are determined to free Delhi from AAPda. The voter is saying – Aapda ko nahi sahenge, badal ke rahenge (we won’t tolerate disaster, we will change it).”

Addressing the public rally, PM Modi also targetted former Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) convener Arvind Kejriwal, and said, “Main bhi koi sheesh mahal bana sakta tha…(I could have also build a palace of mirrors)”

“Even after Independence, such works (New Education Policy) were not done, lekin aapke sevak ne kar diya… (but your servant has done it),” PM Modi said.
