All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) on Friday came out strongly to claim that Varanasi district court‘s decision allowing ‘puja‘ in a cellar of Gyanvapi mosque was taken in “haste” and made it clear that they will pursue the issue right up to SC. Under the umbrella of AIMPLB, prominent Muslim organisations plan to approach President Droupadi Murmu and write to CJI D Y Chandrachud to share their concerns.
Representatives of the Muslim side demanded that Places of Worship Act, 1991 be implemented in letter and spirit to prevent disputes in the country. The statement came after Allahabad HC on Friday adjourned till Feb 6 hearing on an appeal filed by Anzuman Intezamia Masjid Committee challenging Varanasi court’s order.
