Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt, who is currently promoting her latest release Jigra, has opened up for the first time about her ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder) diagnosis. In a candid interview with Lallantop, the actress shared insights into her personal experiences, discussing how she discovered her condition and how it affects her life.

Early Signs of ADHD
In the interview, Alia Bhatt recalled noticing early signs of ADHD, including feeling frequently “zoned out” during her childhood. The Dear Zindagi actress said, “I used to get zoned out from a young age. I used to get zoned out in the classroom or during conversations.” These experiences eventually prompted her to undergo a psychological test, which confirmed her place on the ADHD spectrum.
The actress explained that while her friends were unsurprised by the diagnosis, it came as a revelation to her. “Whenever I told about this to my friends, they were like, ‘We always knew’. This is not some sort of revelation. But, I didn’t know,” she added.
Finding Peace in Front of the Camera and With Her Daughter
Despite the challenges that come with ADHD, the Kalank actress shared how she has found moments of peace and presence in her life. She spoke about the calm she feels while acting, as well as during time spent with her daughter, Raha. “Then, I understood why I am at peace in front of the camera. I’m most present in that moment. Whenever I am in front of the camera, I am present as the character I am playing. And now after Raha, when I am with her, I am most present. These are the two moments in my life where I am more peaceful,” she revealed.
Jigra and Alia’s Professional Success
Alongside her personal revelations, the 31-year-old actress is currently promoting Jigra, a film directed by Vasan Bala. The movie follows the journey of a sister who embarks on a mission to rescue her brother, exploring themes of devotion and resilience. The film is produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, in association with Viacom18 Studios and Eternal Sunshine Productions.
