The Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC) will conduct the Group-II examination on Sunday and Monday (December 15 and 16).

The exam will be held in 1,358 centres and some 5.51 lakh candidates have registered to write the exam for recruitment to 783 vacancies in various departments.

“The exam notification was issued in 2022. We won the cases in the court last week, and it is all set now,” TGPSC Chairman Burra Venkatesham said in a media disclosure on Saturday.

About 49,800 personnel are deputed for examination duties. The attendance on both days of the examination is by biometric. And as of Saturday, some 75% of the candidates have downloaded the hall tickets.

Assuring the candidates about the foolproof arrangements, Mr. Venkatesham said all the exam centres are equipped with CCTVs, the question papers and OMR sheets are preserved in 58 storage points, and there is no room for any mistake.

‘TGPSC ready to learn’

Mr. Venkatesham said members of TGPSC will be in Delhi on December 18 and 19, to learn and understand the examination guidelines from Union Public Service Commission, the Staff Selection Commission and the National Testing Agency.

“This study tour will help TGPSC to understand various guidelines and about transparency in conducting examinations. We will submit a detailed report to the government in January, and be prepared for further recruitment examinations,” he said.

The public service commission boards of Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, are scheduled to visit Telangana in January, he said.

Mr. Venkatesham allaying apprehensions about recruitment, said the Commission stands for commitment and speed when conducting examinations. It was also proposed to take 80 personnel on deputation to the Commission, in view of the busy oncoming schedule.

He said the results of Group III exams will be announced between January and March. He also clarified that TGPSC only releases the examination syllabus but does not recommend which books to follow.
