Allu Arjun has approached the Telangana High Court to dismiss an FIR filed against him. The case is related to the death of a woman who died due to asphyxiation during the premiere of his movie Pushpa 2 at a Hyderabad theatre. The tragic incident occurred due to overcrowding at the event.
A 35-year-old woman tragically passed away, and her eight-year-old son was hospitalized after a large crowd gathered at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad on December 4 for the premiere of Allu Arjun’s movie Pushpa 2. The overcrowding reportedly led to asphyxiation, causing the woman’s death and her son’s condition.
On December 5, the police in Hyderabad filed a case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management at Chikkadpally police station. The case was registered under Sections 105 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following a complaint from the family of the woman who died due to asphyxiation during the Pushpa 2 premiere on December 4.During the investigation, the police arrested three individuals in connection with the incident: one of the owners of the theatre, the senior manager, and the person in charge of the lower balcony.
The actor has filed a petition in the Telangana High Court seeking to quash an FIR filed against him in relation to a woman’s death during the Pushpa 2 premiere. He has requested a stay on all proceedings, including arrest, until the petition is resolved. The High Court is set to hear the case soon.
Allu Arjun has offered financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh to the family of the woman who tragically passed away due to asphyxiation during the Pushpa 2 premiere.
