Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has been generating buzz since its theatrical release on November 1, clashing with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again and surpassing Rs 100 crore at the box office. In a recent interview, director Anees Bazmee shared insights on how he brought Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan together for this horror-comedy.
Anees Bazmee reveals how he brought Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3: “While writing the film, I kept thinking how wonderful it would be….”
In an interview with Hindi Rush, Anees Bazmee discussed casting Madhuri Dixit and Vidya Balan in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He shared that he was keen on bringing Vidya back since she starred in the first film of the franchise. He believed that her return after more than a decade would create a lot of excitement.
Bazmee explained, “While writing the film, I kept thinking how wonderful it would be if Vidya joined the cast. Her involvement generated significant buzz, especially as she was returning 17 years after the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) by Priyadarshan.”
Speaking about Madhuri Dixit, Bazmee shared that they met at a party where Madhuri had complimented his work. Seeing it as the ideal moment, he decided to approach her for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, not wanting to miss the chance.
He recalled thinking, “She has praised me, so let’s seize this opportunity.” He then narrated the story to her. With everything in place—the producers, cast, and director, Madhuri agreed and said, “Let’s do it.”
Alongside Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 also featured Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, and Rajpal Yadav in prominent roles.
