Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav starrer ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan‘, which was released on an OTT platform, received positive reviews from all sides. Reports are rife that the makers are now planning a sequel for the same.
In an interview with Indian Express, director Arjun Varain Singh expressed his uncertainty about a sequel for the film, emphasizing that he believes it doesn’t necessarily warrant one.He also delved into the process of choosing the film’s title, mentioning that the initial working title, ‘Friends and Followers,’ lacked the desired impact and memorability. Considering it was also in English, Arjun reflected on the need for a title that resonated more effectively with the essence of the film, especially after shooting the announcement video.

He further added that during the same period, the announcement of ‘Jee Le Zara’ had garnered attention, and online memes about Excel and Tiger Baby Films utilising song lyrics for their movie titles started circulating. This inspired me to explore the same idea. I instructed my DA to review various lyrics, and after narrowing down the options, ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ emerged as the most suitable choice. Its thematic resonance with the film’s narrative further solidified the decision.

Arjun also shared insights into the script’s development, revealing that Imaad’s character, portrayed by Siddhant Chaturvedi, took precedence in the initial stages. The story around Imaad unfolded organically, with Arjun having a clear vision of his character arc, extending all the way to the final reveal. Concomitantly, the character of Ahana began to take shape, drawing inspiration from a close personal friend of Arjun’s.
Arjun previously referred to the film as his dream project, expressing his long-standing desire to share this particular story. The film revolves around the digital coming of age of three friends, portraying their journey as they navigate the complexities of their real lives, often entwined with the world of cinema.
