NEW DELHI: On Saturday, the Army responded with gunfire to a suspicious movement near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred in the Sabra Gali area of Mendhar, prompting an immediate reaction from the Army.
The firing took place in a forward village in the snow-covered Mendhar during the early hours of Saturday. Subsequently, a substantial search operation was initiated in the area.
As of the latest reports, a large-scale search operation is ongoing to sanitize the region. The troops stationed along the LoC are on high alert following recent snowfall, aiming to thwart any potential infiltration attempts by terrorists from across the border.
Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, the General Officer Commanding of the Jammu-based White Knight Corps, visited forward locations in the Poonch sector on Friday. During the visit, he reviewed the operational readiness of the formation and urged all ranks to remain vigilant and steadfast against any challenges.
