In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, the Bidar district police have booked 184 cases against 355 individuals and seized property worth ₹30,32,793 in April 2025.
In a media note released on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gunti said that extensive raids were conducted across the district to curb the illegal activities.
As per the details he provided, 26 cases were booked against 156 individuals for gambling; 20 cases were booked against 34 people for cricket betting, and 48 cases were booked against 56 people for matka operations.
The other cases included 85 cases related to violations of the Excise Act, two cases each under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and the Essential Commodities Act and one case involving counterfeit currency
Emphasising his department’s commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring a safe environment for the public, Mr. Gunti warned the offenders of stringent legal action, including banishment from the district.
