Tej Pratap Yadav, eldest son of Lalu Prasad Yadav, is set to launch his own political party after being expelled from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). The new outfit is expected to feature a key addition, Anushka Yadav, marking a fresh chapter in Bihar’s political landscape.

Anushka has been in the spotlight due to her widely speculated relationship with Tej Pratap, which has frequently made headlines in recent months.

Tej Pratap Yadav’s personal life has often been under public scrutiny, with recent rumours linking him to Anushka Yadav. Reports suggest that Anushka may take an active role in Tej Pratap’s new party, ‘Team Tej Pratap Yadav’.

Sources suggest that the party aims to attract youth, students, and rural voters, with Anushka potentially playing a significant role in the party’s organisation and campaign efforts. However, Anushka’s family has not yet made any public statements regarding her involvement.

Last month, Tej Pratap reportedly visited Anushka’s house and spent several hours there, engaging in lengthy discussions with her and her family members. This visit has further fuelled speculation about a potential political partnership.

A photo of the two, which went viral on May 26, claimed their relationship dated back 12 years. Tej Pratap initially responded by tweeting that his Facebook account had been hacked, but later admitted to posting the photo himself. He stated, “Yes, I had posted that. Those are past things; my focus is on the upcoming elections and the development of Bihar.”

According to reports, Tej Pratap’s six-year expulsion from the RJD has prompted him to openly question the party’s leadership, and he is now preparing to pursue his own political ambitions.

He reportedly visited Hasanpur on the first Monday of Sawan to listen to the concerns of local residents. When asked whether he would contest the next election from Hasanpur or Mahua, he stated that nothing was decided yet.

According to political experts, the emergence of Tej Pratap’s new party and his potential rebellion could pose serious challenges for the RJD, especially in stronghold constituencies like Hasanpur and Mahua. This shift may benefit the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which is already working to expand its reach in rural areas.

Tej Pratap Yadav, who entered politics during the 2015 Bihar Assembly elections, was ousted from the RJD by his father in May. The expulsion came shortly after Tej Pratap shared photos with Anushka Yadav on social media and publicly acknowledged being in a relationship with her.

Following this revelation, Lalu Prasad reportedly severed all personal ties with his eldest son, citing his continued “irresponsible behaviour.”

Tej Pratap’s personal life has often drawn attention. In 2018, he married Aishwarya Rai, the granddaughter of former Bihar Chief Minister Daroga Prasad Rai. The marriage, however, ended in turmoil, with Tej Pratap filing for divorce just five months later.

In the wake of his expulsion, Tej Pratap has claimed that a deliberate effort is underway to create discord between him and his younger brother, Tejashwi Yadav, who is currently the key face of the Mahagathbandhan ahead of the upcoming state elections.
