BJP 6th candidate list 2024: Kanhaiya Lal Meena fielded from Dausa, Indu Devi from Karauli-Dholpur in Rajasthan

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its sixth candidate list for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The sixth list mentioned names for two seats in Rajasthan and one in Manipur.

The BJP fielded Kanhaiya Lal Meena from the Dausa Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan and Indu Devi from the Karauli-Dolpur seat. Meanwhile, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh has been fielded from the Inner Manipur seat.

The BJP dropped all its sitting MPs from these three seats, including Union minister Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, who was replaced by Thounaojam Basanta Kumar Singh. In two Rajasthan constituencies, the BJP dropped sitting MPs Manoj Rajoria (Karauli-Dolpur seat) and Jaskaur Meena (Dausa).

The BJP has so far announced its candidates for 401 seats of the total 543 seats in the Lok Sabha. 

The BJP’s first list of 195 candidates was announced on March 2. In its first list, the BJP fielded 34 central government ministers including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Smriti Irani. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will contest the Varanasi seat in Uttar Pradesh.

The party’s second candidate list was released on March 13. It mentioned the names of 72 more candidates for Lok Sabha polls. Anurag Thakur, Manohar Lal Khattar, Piyush Goyal and Anil Baluni were included in the second list.

The third list of nine candidates was released on March 21. According to BJP’s third candidate list, Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai will contest Lok Sabha elections from Coimbatore, and Union Minister L Murugan from Nilgiris.

The fourth list of 15 candidates was released on March 22 and the fifth list of 111 candidates released on March 25, had names of actors Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil.

The general elections across the nation are set to be held between April 19 and June 1. The result will be announced on June 4.
