The Bharatiya Janata Party will undertake a “Waqf Sudhar Janjagaran Abhiyan” (Waqf Amendment Awareness Campaign) from April 20 to May 5 at the state, block, and mandal levels, News18 has learnt. Every MP and MLA will conduct at least one interactive meeting in his or her constituency, says the party’s latest directive.
“Passing of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill and the Muslim Waqf (Repeal) Bill brought by the Central Government under the leadership of the country’s dynamic and visionary Prime Minister Narendra Modi after a healthy and comprehensive discussion in both the houses of the Parliament is historic, there is an atmosphere of happiness in the country due to this,” the letter says.
The letter quotes the Prime Minister saying that this law brings a collective quest for socio-economic justice, transparency, and inclusive growth. “This will particularly help those who have long remained on the margins, thus being denied both voice and opportunity.
