NEW DELHI: BJP Friday questioned Congress over its ‘silence’ while others cheered when Prez Droupadi Murmu in her address to Parliament made announcement of 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
BJP MP Sambit Patra said while NDA MPs were clapping and welcoming the announcement, “Congress was silent, its MPs were quiet”.
“The Gandhi family – Sonia, Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi, did not clap. They were not happy,” he claimed.
Gujarat home minister Harsh Sanghvi accused Congress of historically undermining Patel’s legacy.
