Union Minister of Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would come to power in Tamil Nadu and Telangana. In fact, the BJP would make its mark in the entire South India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose sole aim was development.

Participating as the chief guest in a programme organised by the BJP as part of the birth anniversary celebrations of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Vijayawada on Sunday (April 27, 2025), Mr. Kishan Reddy said the Congress party always had political gains on top of its agenda and it was not much bothered about the nation.

The Congress had insulted the Constitution written by Dr. Ambedkar and did not want him to rise in politics, which was evident from Jawaharlal Nehru’s campaign against Dr. Ambedkar in the elections to Lok Sabha. The Left parties were also in disagreement with Dr. Ambedkar’s ideology and spared no effort to defeat him in elections.

Mr. Kishan Reddy said Dr. Ambedkar had endured a lot of humiliation and faced many struggles and dedicated his life to uplifting the oppressed and weaker sections. His fight against untouchability was inspiring.

The Congress party had little respect for Dr. Ambedkar and made certain amendments to the Constitution that were required to fulfill its political objectives. It stooped to the level of ousting Dr. Ambedkar from the post of Union Law Minister.

In contrast, Mr. Modi had entered the Parliament when he became PM for the first time, only after paying tributes to Dr. Ambedkar. It was the BJP-led NDA government that gave a facelift to all those places associated with Dr. Ambedkar’s life under the name Panch Teerth. The site where Dr. Ambedkar’s last rites were performed has been beautifully developed.

“Mr. Modi is working with the inspiration and principles of Dr. Ambedkar,” Mr. Kishan Reddy added, while pointing out that the NDA government was strengthening the Constitution. Health Minister Y. Satya Kumar, Vijayawada West MLA Y.S. Chowdary and other party leaders took part.
