SP P. Jagadeesh speaking at the launch of a mega medical camp by Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Anantapur on Saturday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) P. Jagadeesh inaugurated a free mega medical camp for police personnel and their families, here on Saturday. Medical and paramedical staff from Basavatarakam Indo-American Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, Hyderabad, organised the camp at the police conference hall.
The SP said that the camp focused on cancer screening and general health check-ups among the police and their family members. “There is great response to the camp, which undertook tests for breast, cervical, and lung cancer, along with consultations in general medicine, gynecology, and radiology,” the SP said.
Mr. Jagadeesh highlighted the importance of preventive medicine. “Early detection of cancer is possible thanks to the latest diagnosis. Cancer is not a life-threatening ailment, if diagnosed early. We encourage timely medical consultations and awareness about preventive care,” Mr. Jagadeesh said.
The Basavatarakam Hospital teams arranged special counters for men and women at the camp. A specially designed mobile clinic was deployed at the camp. Senior police officials, medical experts, and members of the police fraternity attended the camp in large numbers.
