The recent episode of Celebrity MasterChef was a Holi special and the family members of the contestants graced the kitchen. They became the celebs’ sous chefs for the challenge. Chef Zorawar Kalra entered as the guest judge bringing two new challenges for the home cooks. The first challenge was again a taste test where they had to guess the three key ingredients of the sauces.
Archana loses the first round by mistakenly writing only one ingredient. In the second round, Faisal aka Faisu gets defeated. Usha Tai and Rajiv go strong in the challenge and Rajiv wins it. This would be the second time Rajiv got the seeti.
Before the second challenge, Farah Khan asked all the cooks to close their eyes and feel the heartfelt message from the family members. While listening to her son, Usha Tai broke down in tears. Farah then gave a sweet surprise to the cooks as their family and friends came to cook with them.
Usha Tai jokingly wondered how her son would help her in the kitchen, saying, ‘Usko chai bhi main banake deti hoon.’ Abhijeet said, “It is feeling so good, earlier I had warned her. I felt this wasn’t her cup of tea but ever since she took up the challenge, she has been growing.” Ranveer calls her the centre of the universe.
As they begin cooking, Usha Tai reveals she is cooking Pooran Poli tart. Abhijeet says, ‘I had seen maa make pudding, but in MasterChef, she has been cooking tarts, jellies and whatnot. She has gone international with her cuisines.’ Ranveer and Zorawar are shocked to see Usha Tai make a tart. Abhijeet says, ‘Pehli baar aa raha hoon aur shock mil raha hai.’ Ranveer challenges Usha Tai to make Pooran Poli better than his wife. Abhijeet then shared how he grew up at his nani’s place.
Ranveer then shared how Usha Tai couldn’t give time to her son and missed out on his childhood because she had to focus on her career. Usha Tai gets teary-eyed as they talk about it. Ranveer says, ‘Yeh aapse bohot pyaar karti hai, theatre se kahin kahin zyada..’ Abhijeet hugs her tight.
